Some math, because I feel like it.
At 9.1% abv, 12 ounces of beer provides the drinker (me!) with 1.092 ounces of pure alcohol.
This is equivalent to a full pint of 6.8% beer. Also equivalent to 26 ounces of Bud Light (4.2% abv).
A standard 1.5 ounce shot of 80 proof (40% abv) liquor provides 0.6 ounces of pure alcohol (which I just learned is the definition of a standard drink).
A 750ml bottle of wine holds 25.4 ounces. At 12.5% abv, a bottle of wine contains 3.175 ounces of pure alcohol.
It’s about like drinking two shots, or a third of a bottle of wine.
