Steve Ross is a guest painter on the 11th episode of season 31 (final season) of the Joy of Painting.  Steve was a guest painter on various episodes through the years, he is a great painter, and was asked to replace his father after his death, but refused.

Here you go.

I have to stop myself before I watch this whole thing because I have Shit to Do Today, but yeah I think I kind of might be a little bit in love with Steve Ross now.

“I’m not going to tell you that this is art that is going to hang in the Smithsonian. But I will tell you that your friends will probably buy paintings from you after you do a couple, so you can actually make money off of it… I probably shouldn’t mention that, but, I know some of you might be interested in financial gains from your paintings. I know I am! You gotta make a living somehow.”

Steve’s like the Jay Z of quick painting.

Ok, so you know how in high school you found your mom’s pills - Xanax, or Klonopin, or some sort of benzo anti-anxiety thing - and took some of them and were just chilled the fuck out for some time?

Steve Ross painting is like visual Klonopin. THOSE FUCKING MOUNTAINS.

This is absolutely worth watching to the end. “That’s what’s nice, you’re not committed or anything with this. You can do anything you want and it’s always going to look nice, because you did it and you’re wonderful. You have to believe that.”
